The Aerie held a special Building Fundraiser Dinner on Friday, November 17, 2017 to raise funds for major repairs our heating system suddenly required. ALL proceeds from this dinner will be used toward these costly repairs. The dinner was a Baked Potato Bar with yummy toppings including chicken in gravy, chili, green onions, broccoli, sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheese and black beans. Brownies and cookies provided a sweet ending! The dinner was a hit with everyone and we thank all who attended to help support our cause. Special thanks to REAC for hosting the dinner and all who helped in any way planning, shopping, cooking, serving, and donating for this event. After dinner, everyone enjoyed karaoke with Whitey, especially many of the children who had come for the dinner! Enjoy the photo slideshow!

Our Diabetes Fundraiser, held on Nov. 4, 2017, was a big success because of support from our members and community! Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, bid on auction items, and made donations, like the Belleville Area Lions Club, which presented us with a check last night. Thank you for your generous donation, it's much appreciated. We'd also like to thank Rocky Fortune for the great music! You guys never fail to please the crowd and we're happy you could share the evening with us. Finally, a big THANK YOU to WP John Watkins & MP Toni Watkins for all their hard work in organizing the event, and thank you also to the dozens of members who volunteered hours of their time to help. We're blessed to have such selfless members. The Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center will benefit from everyone's generosity, and hopefully, one day there will be a cure for diabetes. The kids had a great time at their Halloween party on October 28, 2017, and everyone went home with a full tummy and a bag of candy! A big thank you to the Auxiliary for all their hard work and planning; thank you to the JOEs for helping out; and thank you to everyone who donated candy for the party. Finally, we'd like to thank the kids for participating. We were impressed with how courteous and cooperative you were. Great job. We had an awesome, fun Halloween Party on October 27, 2017! There were so many great costumes; some were scary, some were classy, and some were funny. Here are this year's winners: Lenny Cicotte, Bill & Gloria Richards, and Mark & Joelene Brzezinski. Congratulations everyone! We'd like to thank Southern Heat for providing our entertainment. You had the dance floor filled all night and played a variety of songs to please everyone. Kudos on a great job! Finally, we'd like to thank our entertainment committee and their helpers for putting the event together for us. It was a lot of fun and we appreciate your hard work. We want to thank everyone who came to our Autumn in Michigan event on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, starting with Nancy Fruit and her kitchen helpers, Rosalie Inman, Dave & Gladys Walker, Gary Smith, Joanna Paton, Glenn Ramberg, and anyone else we might have missed. The food was delicious and very plentiful. No one went home hungry, that's for sure. We'd also like to thank Rozanne Ogger, Diane Cullen and Virginia Truran for the beautiful hall and table decorations. The weather has been summer-like, but the hall looks cozy and autumnal. Finally, a big thank you to The Funky Good Time Band. It was a nice trip down memory lane listening to your Motown sounds. Good job, fellas. This page contains the slideshow with additional photos from Woodstock 2017. Make sure you visit the Part One slideshow Blog post, it has 76 photos in it. This slideshow has an additional 66 photos. Enjoy! A big thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate "peace, love and music" at our recent Woodstock Revisited event. Our photographer, Allie Jones of alliemayphotography, took so many wonderful pictures of the event that we can’t post them all at one time. So, we’ll start with this batch and post the rest soon. We hope you enjoy the pictures of our bands, The Classics, Second Wind, and The Repeat Offenders, and also those of our creative face painter, Joelene Brzezinski of Cat's Meow Face Painting, and everyone else who attended. As you’ll see in the pictures, it was a fun day for everyone! Peace. Our Joint Officer Installation was both a solemn and joyful evening. Our incoming officers take their responsibilities very seriously and we trust them to do a good job for #3996, yet it was joyful because of the camaraderie we shared with one another that night. We also honored several of our members. Barbara Brasington was named 'Grandmother of the Year' by the Auxiliary, and Lisa Ochalek was named 'Mother of the Year'. Both ladies are very deserving of their titles. Congratulations, ladies! Our Honor Quilters also presented handmade quilts to two Aerie veterans. John Easley was presented with a quilt made by Barbara Tofil and Aerie Worthy President John Watkins was presented with one made by Aerie Vice-President Michelle Gueli. Beautiful work on the quilts, ladies! And thank you for your service to our country, gentlemen. We finished off the evening with a delicious dinner and conversation with our Eagle friends. It was a perfect start to a new year with our new officers! "The First Ladies of the White House" event, on Saturday, May 6, 2017, was a sold-out, huge hit. From Martha Washington to Melania Trump, we had fun learning things about our First Ladies. "Naughty and nice" is the only way to describe them! A big thank you to Ginger & Keith Bruder, Barb Tomlinson and Maria Kasten for all your hard work researching and producing our show. Thank you also to our beautiful First Ladies for managing to catch the essence of all these women. The costumes and hairdos were awesome. The Presidents looked pretty handsome, too. Thank you, fellas, for participating. As usual, the food and decorations were great. A big thank you to everyone who helped shop, prepare food, decorate or set-up. It takes a lot of people working behind the scenes to make our events enjoyable, and we're fortunate to have so many people willing to roll up their sleeves and help out. Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who attended. We appreciate your support and hope you enjoyed the evening. There are 81 photos in the slideshow below, enjoy! We'd like to thank the Funky Good Time Band for entertaining us with their music on Friday, March 31, 2017. They packed the house and had everyone up and dancing. It was a lot of fun! Thank you, guys. You rocked! We'd also like to thank the Auxiliary and their volunteers for all their hard work in the kitchen. They completely ran out of fish dinners! Finally, we'd like to thank the Auxiliary State Officers for spending the evening with us. We hope you enjoyed yourselves. Thanks also to Rob Crawford for taking and sharing these great photos with us! |
